A Pilgrimage of Self-Discovery in Cornwall

At the mysterious site of Mên-an-Tol in Cornwall, women on a self-discovery pilgrimage by Women Creating Change pass through an ancient circular stone as goddess scholar Cheryl Straffon sings them along.

Ancient Stone in Cornwall inspires “Women Creating Change”

Picking Up Stones-The Pilgrimage is the annual event of Women Creating Change.  On this pilgrimage, women experience sacred sites of feminine spirituality in Great Britain, where they may discover their own voice and authority. Founded in 2007, Women Creating Change (WCC) provides learning opportunities that assist women in further developing their potential so that they may embrace their own leadership in whatever capacity they choose.

Picking Up Stones-The Pilgrimage is the annual event of WCC.  On this pilgrimage, women experience sacred sites of feminine spirituality in Great Britain, where they may discover their own voice and authority.

Against the setting of the Cornish coastline, the program includes yoga, meditation and dialogue within a Circle dynamic.  Marilyn Dam-Rabolt, a clinical psychiatric nurse and Gaye Mack, who has a considerable background in holistic healing, created the pilgrimageas a core component of WCC’s working model, which also offers workshops and seminars based on the mind/body/spirit framework.

The 2009 Pilgrimage included thirteen women from Illinois, New Hampshire and Louisiana.  The group was especially privileged to have quality time with leading authority on ancient Cornwall, Cheryl Straffon.  Among the sites visited with Cheryl were Sancreed Well, the stone circle of Boscawen- Ûn and the strange, Mên-an-Tol circular stone.
